Jimmy Johnson was able to stay out of trouble to
get another top 10 and clinch a spot in the chase. His teammate Jeff Gordon was
able to get up front for while and lead 41 laps and finishing 5th moving him up
one spot to 5th in the points. The rookie Denny Hamlin again had a great run
finishing 6th moving him up two spots to 6th in the points.
Dale Earnhardt Jr who had a bad qualifying run
and started 40th was able to fight back and get a third place finish
helping his chances to get into the chase. Earnhardt led 35 of 500 laps.
Jeff Burton once again failed to get a win. He
lead a race high 263 0f 500 laps but failed to compete for the win, Burton
finished 9th.
Ryan Newman was the only Dodge to post a top ten
at Bristol with a 8th place finish. His teammate Kurt Busch suffered problems
early after leading 27 laps in the race and finished 37th.
Mark Martin is on the bubble now falling 6 spots
to 10 in in points after finishing 28th.
